## What is a Pre-Engineered Building (PEB)?

A Pre-Engineered Building is a structure where steel components — such as columns, rafters, purlins, roof trusses, and wall panels — are manufactured at a factory according to precise design specifications and then transported to and assembled at the construction site using bolted connections. PEBs are built on conventional concrete foundations and are engineered to comply with structural and aesthetic design requirements.

**Roof Sheet Specifications:**
- 26-gauge thick profiled Galvalume or Galvalume color-coated steel sheeting
- Exterior face: pre-painted with 1 mil thick factory-applied polyester paint
- Interior face: pre-painted with 0.5 mil thick factory-applied polyester paint
- Each panel provides 1 meter coverage; can be shipped in lengths up to 12 meters
- Minimum yield strength: 345 MPa

**Wall Cladding Specifications:**
- 26-gauge thick profiled Galvalume or Galvalume color-coated steel sheeting
- Same paint specifications as roof sheets

- **PUF (Polyurethane Foam) Insulation:** Suitable for -200°C to +110°C
- **PIR (Polyisocyanurate) Slabs & Pipe Sections:** Suitable for -200°C to +145°C; thermal conductivity ≤ 0.021 W/mK at 10°C; negligible water permeability; low smoke emission; will not melt or drip in fire; 50% thinner than cork or EPS alternatives
- Applications: Cold/chilled pipelines, building roof and wall insulation, equipment insulation, Horton sphere insulation

## PEB Construction Process

1. **Foundation:** Concrete foundation built and site cleared; shallow foundations typically used given the lighter superstructure weight
